Well, today’s digitally-edited painting was kind of an interesting one. It was prompted by a sudden and spontaneous memory of seeing the duty free shop on a cross-channel ferry when I was a kid (despite the title of the painting, the actual memory is probably from slightly later than 1996, or it could have been 1996, I don’t know). The memory was unusually vivid and I could even smell the over-priced perfume.
Although this painting probably doesn’t do the memory justice (and I used a lot of artistic licence, mostly because my memory was very light and airy [eg: if it was more accurate, the colour scheme would be blue and white] but, as regular readers of this site probably know, “light and airy” are two qualities that just don’t work in my art), I quite like how it turned out.
As usual, this digitally-edited painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
