Today’s Art (15th December 2016)

Today’s digitally-edited painting was kind of an interesting one. It was inspired by a random and very interesting “if I made a video game…” daydream I’d had the night before. I came up with this elaborate idea for a virtual reality horror game set in the 1990s, only to realise that not only do I have no programming skills but the level of virtual reality technology the game idea would require was the stuff of science fiction, rather than modern technology. Well, what can I say? It was a daydream – a very old type of virtual reality that not even the most advanced technology can come close to.

Still, the opening scene of this daydreamt video game (where you’re hanging out with two other characters in a house in a vaguely California-like location) stuck in my mind and inspired this painting.

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
