Today’s Art (21st January 2017)

Well, for the next digitally-edited painting in my second “Awesome Stuff” art series (the first series can be seen here), I thought that I’d use a larger colour palette and make a slightly brighter painting.

Why? Because, if there’s one thing that “point and click” games, TV shows, movies etc… from the 1990s were excellent at, it was “tropical paradise” locations. Whether it’s Risa in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (and “Deep Space Nine” etc… too), or the resort in “The Net“, or locations in games like “The Longest Journey” and “Broken Sword II“, the setting in Alex Garland’s “The Beach” (I refuse to watch the film adaptation, lest it taint my – slightly vague- memories of the book) etc..

Even though I’m much more of a ‘cold weather’ kind of person, I’d absolutely love to visit some of these fictional locations.

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
