Today’s Art (24th January 2017)

Well, for the next digitally-edited painting in my “Awesome Stuff/ 1990s Stuff” art series, I thought that I’d make something a bit more gothic, since the 1990s certainly contained some interesting refinements on this classic genre.

Both surprisingly and unsurprisingly this picture ended up having more of an “American” look to it than I expected (inspired by, amongst other things, various comics, Tim Burton, “American McGee’s Alice” [yes, it’s from 2000! I know!], an awesome novel called “Lost Souls“, “Buffy The Vampire Slayer“, “Angel“, various horror games etc…). Then again, the few British gothic things from around the 1990s that I’ve seen tend to be more visually understated in some ways, so this probably wouldn’t work as well in the painting.

As usual, this digitally-edited painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
