Today’s Art (20th February 2017)

Woo hoo! I am very proud to present the third comic in “Damania Renaissance”, a webcomic mini series that follows on from “Damania Retrofuturistic“. Although I’ll try to keep every comic in this mini series at least vaguely self-contained, it’s worth checking out the previous mini series too. If you want to see more webcomic mini series (and other comics), links to them can be found on this page.

From the very few things I’ve read about it, medieval beer apparently had some fairly… unusual… ingredients (something to do with hops not growing in Britain or something like that). Ironically, it was actually medieval Germany that standardised what we would consider to be “beer” these days.

And, yes, for history nerds, I know that medieval beer often used henbane instead of (poisonous) hemlock, but well, hemlock sounded funnier.

As for Harvey’s comment in the first panel about “foul play”, I’ll leave it up to you to come to your own conclusions.

As usual, this comic update is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
