Well, I was still in the mood for making “film noir” art when I made this digitally-edited monochrome drawing.

Well, I’m still in the mood for making “film noir”-themed art and I quite like how this (heavily) digitally-edited painting turned out. Interestingly, I wasn’t sure whether to make this picture monochrome or greyscale. Originally, it was a greyscale painting. But, then I digitally converted it to monochrome. Then, whilst editing it, I used some airbrush tools – which means that whilst the painting is technically still monochrome (eg: the only colours in it are black and white), the airbrush effects give the impression of a greyscale picture.

Well, I was in the mood for some gothic art and decided that a monochrome digitally-edited drawing would probably be the best format to use. Although I’d planned to add more detail to the drawing, I realised that it would probably look best if it was slightly minimalist.

The Complete “Damania Doodle” – All Six Episodes Of The New Webcomic Mini Series By C. A. Brown

Well, in case you missed any of it, I thought that I’d collect all six comic updates from my recent “Damania Doodle” webcomic mini series in one easy-to-read post. You can also find lots of other comics featuring these characters on this page too.

This mini series was kind of a strange one. Basically, during the days leading up to it (and during some parts of making it), I was fairly busy with other stuff. But, I was determined to post some comics here this month – even if the idea of making a “proper” mini series seemed a little bit too much.

So, after abandoning the idea of making a series of parodies of historical paintings (featuring the main characters from my webcomic), I settled on the idea of making six single-panel monochrome comics. Although these are non-canonical filler comics (of varying quality), some of them turned out reasonably well.

As usual, all six comic updates are released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence. You can also click on each comic update to see a larger version of it too.

Woo hoo! This is the first comic in “Damania Doodle” – a slightly “non-canonical” mini series of single-panel monochrome cartoons featuring the characters from my long-running webcomic series (you can find many more comics featuring these characters in the 2016-18 segments of this page).

Basically, this mini series came about because – due to being busy with various things – I realised that I’d have to make a quick & easy mini series this month if I wanted to avoid a comic hiatus. Even so, I quite like how this comic update turned out – hopefully, the other 4-5 comic updates will be just as much fun to make too 🙂

As usual, this comic update is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
