Today’s Art (16th January 2019)

Well, due to uninspiration, today’s artwork is a digitally-edited monochrome drawing that is a remake of this old drawing of mine from 2014 (which is based on this photo that I took in Berlin in 2004).

As usual, this drawing is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (26th November 2018)

Here’s the sixth (and final) comic in my “Damania Revisited” webcomic mini series. Don’t worry if you missed any of this mini series, I’ll be posting a full retrospective here later tonight. In the meantime, you can find lots of other comics here.

Anyway, today’s comic is a remake of “Damania – Haunted” from 2012. This is one of my favourite older comics, although it was made before Rox first appeared (eg: she didn’t appear for the first time until late 2012), so Roz is more of a retro computer enthusiast in this comic.

As usual, this comic update is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (25th November 2018)

Woo hoo! Here’s the fifth (and penultimate) comic in “Damania Revisited”, a mini series of modern remakes of some of my really ancient “Damania” comics from 2012/13.

Although writer’s block was the main reason for making remakes rather than new comics, I’ve been meaning to make a mini series like this since 2016 (in fact, my revival of the series in that year was originally planned to start with a series of remakes). Still, if you want to catch up on more recent comics featuring these characters, all of the comics made since 2015 can be found here. You can also catch up with comics from this mini series here: Comic One, Comic Two, Comic Three, Comic Four

Today’s comic is a remake of “Damania – 11:11” from 2013. If you’ve never heard of this phenomenon before, it’s when people keep noticing clocks when the time is 11:11 am/pm (although I’ve experienced it with times like 7:47 and 5:55 more often than 11:11).

As usual, this comic update is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (24th November 2018)

Woo hoo! Here’s the fourth comic in “Damania Revisited”, a mini series of modern remakes of some of my really ancient “Damania” comics from 2012/13.

You can also catch up with comics from this mini series here: Comic One, Comic Two, Comic Three,

Today’s comic is a remake of “Damania – Trolls” from 2012. And, yes, Roz used to be a fan of MMORPGs in the earlier years of the comic and Derek also used to be a much more generic character too (but I’ve tried to include hints of his current character in the remake). This comic update also gave me another chance to draw a couple of “classic” background locations that I seem to have pretty much forgotten after I revived this comic series in 2015/16.

As usual, this comic update is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (22nd November 2018)

Woo hoo! Here’s the second comic in “Damania Revisited”, a mini series of modern remakes of some of my really ancient “Damania” comics from 2012/13.

You can also catch up with comics from this mini series here: Comic One,

Today’s comic is a remake of a comic from 2013 called “Damania – Newsagent” which still made me laugh when I rediscovered it whilst preparing this mini series.

As usual, this comic update is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (21st November 2018)

Woo hoo! Here’s the first comic in “Damania Revisited”, a mini series of modern remakes of some of my really ancient “Damania” comics from 2012/13.

Anyway, today’s comic is actually a remake of two old comics – “Damania – Youtube” from 2012 and “Damania – Copypasta” from 2013. Enjoy 🙂

As usual, this comic update is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (28th June 2018)

Today’s digitally-edited painting (which also comes in a non-rainy version too) is a modern remake of an old painting of mine from 2016. I’d been meaning to remake this painting for a while, but I only eventually got around to it because I was feeling extremely uninspired.

Surprisingly, the modern remake actually turned out a lot better than I’d expected. Initially, I worried that it’d look worse than the old version from 2016, but I guess that I’ve learnt more about lighting, image editing and drawing than I thought I had.

As usual, this painting (and the non-rainy version too) is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (1st September 2017)

As regular readers of this site know, I make these paintings quite far in advance. In addition to this, my art schedules don’t always work in real time either (eg: when I produce webcomics, I often make two updates per day, even if I only post one per day).

So, although today’s digitally-edited painting is a remake of this painting that I’d painted exactly a year earlier in real time – in blog time, the two paintings are a little under 18 months apart.

Still, I was curious about how my art and image editing skills had improved over the past year. And, when I found that I’d made this painting a year earlier (it was one of my favourites from late 2015/early 2016), I just had to remake it.

As usual, both images in this post (the new one at the end and the old one I’ve linked to) are released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (9th May 2017)

Well, I thought that I’d make some low-inspiration art after finishing my latest webcomic mini series. So, today’s digitally-edited painting is a remake of an old picture of mine that I’ve already remade a few times. Here are the previous versions 2010, 2012, 2014.

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (21st April 2017)

Yes, today’s digitally-edited drawing is yet another remake (of this drawing from 2014) – but I have an excuse. Basically, my sleeping patterns were being stupid the night before I made this drawing, which resulted in me being extremely tired when it came to making the art for today.

I tried sketching out ideas for a few new pictures, but they failed very quickly. Realising that I was barely awake, but had to draw something, I decided to remake an old B&W drawing of mine (because it’s quicker than a full-colour painting). Although the drawn parts of the remake don’t look as great as I’d hoped, for something I drew when I had literally started micro-sleeping whilst in the middle of drawing, it isn’t that bad I guess. It’s still better than what I could draw on a good day in 2014. Yay! Practice!

Thankfully, a second wind kicked in just before I was about to digitally edit this picture – which is why it contains lots of detailed rain etc….

As usual, this drawing is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
