Today’s Art (1st April 2019)

Well, I thought that I’d take a short break from making photo-based paintings. This is mostly because I wanted to experiment with traditional still life painting. So, this is a digitally-edited painting of my “to read” pile (and, yes, I’d originally planned to include a realistic background – but, for time reasons, I had to leave this out of the painting).

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (4th November 2018)

Well, I was still in the mood for still life painting, so today’s digitally-edited painting is a painting of the top of two large tower-like CD racks next to my computer desk. Originally, I was going to include a detailed and realistic background – although, for time reasons (the CD racks were more detailed than I thought), I just ended up digitally adding a random “starry sky” background instead.

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (3rd November 2018)

Well, I was feeling slightly uninspired. So, today’s digitally-edited painting is a still life painting of some of the random stuff lying about on one part of my main computer desk. Before I made this painting, I happened to notice some old yellow cardboard tubes near some purple memory sticks and a purple eraser. So, the painting ended up having a gold and purple colour scheme (since this colour scheme just looks really cool).

Today’s Art (11th April 2018)

Well, although I had a bit more time and a bit more enthusiasm, the only idea I could think of for today’s digitally-edited painting was to make a still painting of one of my old mobile phones. However, when searching through the chaotic, kipple-filled expanse of my other desk (eg: not the relatively neat one in this painting or this painting), I realised that both disused phones had either fallen off the edge or had been consumed by the mass of random ephemera on top of said desk.

So, in the end, I found a few random objects that were lying around on the desk (eg: a nail varnish bottle, a ceramic sheep, an old Chinese pu’er tea box, an old MP3 player and half a coconut), put them on top of a DVD and decided to paint them instead.

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (31st March 2018)

Well, I was in something of a rush when I made this digitally-edited painting. So, it ended up being a slightly rough still life painting of some of the random stuff lying around on my computer desk (kind of like this painting, or this painting or this older painting).

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Today’s Art (11th December 2017)

Well, I was in the mood for painting from life again but, since I was slightly tired when I made this painting, I ended up making a digitally-edited still life painting of some more tortoise figurines (including the one in this painting) and other random stuff that happened to be nearby.

As usual, this painting is released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
