Today’s Art (15th May 2014)

Although I couldn’t think of a good idea for an illustration today, when I was trying to find an online copy of Tennyson’s “The Lady Of Shalott” for my previous illustrated page – I found this amazing painting called “I Am Half-sick Of Shadows, Said The Lady Of Shalott” by J.W. Waterhouse and, well, I liked it so much that I felt like trying to paint a copy.

However, about halfway through sketching of it, I thought of a really funny change I could make to my copy – so, it ended up turning into a parody instead.

As a blog exclusive (since this painting will probably already be on my DeviantART gallery by now), I’ll also provide a copy of the lineart for this painting too. Although I made a couple of digital edits to the final painting after I scanned it, so the lineart is very slightly different.

As usual, both of these images are released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.

Well, I was feeling slightly rushed when I made today’s illustration and it didn’t turn out as well as I hoped. Anyway, it’s an illustration of part of Tennyson’s “The Lady Of Shalott”.

As a blog exclusive, I’ll also be providing a larger version of the illustration itself too. This is because the illustrated page will probably have been posted to my DeviantART gallery a day or two ago.

As usual, these two pictures are released under a Creative Commons BY-NC-ND licence.
