2016 Artwork New About Page graphic

Hello and welcome to “PekoeBlaze – The Official Blog”. At present, this blog is updated twice daily, there’s a daily article at 3:11pm GMT and a daily art post at 7:45pm GMT. And, yes, the daily art posts are a few weeks behind my art posts on DeviantART. Don’t ask….

This site started in April 2013 primarily as a website about writing (with some stuff about art too) but, although I’ve since focused on art more than I have on writing, there’s still a lot of writing-related stuff here. These days, this site is about art, webcomics, reviews (mostly movie, retro computer games and “Doom II” WAD reviews) and occasionally writing too.

As for my recent and current projects, I wrote a short interactive comedy/horror story for Halloween last year that can be read here. In addition to this, I made four short comics in 2015 called “Dead Sector“, “Conspiracy 1983“, “The Diabolical Sigil” and “The Horror Of Hardtalon Hall“.

As for the comics projects that will be appearing in 2016, news about them can be found in this post.

Anyway, I hope that you enjoy this blog 🙂

———- Original “About” page from the 22nd May 2013 —-

Well, I thought that I’d start an art-themed creativity and storytelling-themed blog. It’s usually updated at least once most days. But, if anyone is interested, my online gallery (currently containing over 1400 1500 drawings and growing…) can be found here

Since I got back into art about a year or so ago, I’ve produced several comics which include:

“Stories” – This is my latest comic which I’m still working on at the moment. It’s basically just a short story collection in comic-book form and it covers a range of genres. Full chapters from this comic can also be found on this blog too.

“Somnium” – A 175-page surreal comic about dreams (each chapter represents a separate dream) which I wrote between 7th February 2013 and 31st March 2013. In terms of the artwork, it is probably the best comic I’ve ever produced.

“CRIT” – An ongoing [well, occasionally I’ll write a new episode for it every now and then] episodic cyberpunk detective/horror comic and fiction series set in a dystopic future where the world is ruled by three corporations.

“Damania”Although I came up with the idea for this comic in 2011 and even produced a couple of short “concept” comic strips for it back then, I didn’t really start working on it properly until mid-late 2012. It’s a non-sequential newspaper-style comic about magic, monsters, old horror comics and old detective movies. I still add to it occasionally (although usually only every month or two, possibly less)

Thanks 🙂 This looks seriously cool – I’ve just written an article about it. I’m not sure when or if I’ll be able to donate anything though.

The blue gloves which Mann wears are a pretty cool detail too, although it took me a few minutes to work out why he was wearing them (I initially thought that they were a “Firefly” reference, but then I realised that he probably wore them to avoid contamination [either from a zombie virus or from ordinary bacteria] from the zombies whilst fighting).

    Thanks PekoeBlaze,

Don’t worry if you can’t back it yourself. But here is the business proposal I’m making to all journalists that cover the project:

Every one of my backers gets their name at the back of the graphic novel. But if YOU back the project for £18 or above, instead of your name, I’ll give your site a color banner ad, which will also be linked it to your site in the PDF version?

Let me know if you want to do that, but no pressure. Thanks again for the press.

No probs 🙂 It looks like a really cool comic 🙂

Sorry, but I’ll probably have to decline your offer though. But thanks for offering and good luck with the Kickstarter too 🙂

  5. Hello! Is it possible to email you at all? Thanks!

    • pekoeblaze says:

Sorry about the late reply ( amongst other things,I suddenly realised that I hadn’t updated the “About” page on this site for nearly three years LOL!).
I’m slightly unsure about the e-mail though. If you do e-mail, then I’m not sure when or if I’ll reply since, for privacy reasons, the address I use for blog-related stuff is an old address that I only check occasionally. Sorry about this.

Hi Pekoe! Can you drop me an email? I have a question regarding guest post permissions.

    Contact me

I’d do the same to you, but I don’t see one on your website. Thanks!

  7. Hello! Love the content (particularly the PS1 content).

My name is Alan and I recently launched a PS related website called PSLegends. We are actively seeking writers for the site (paid work!) if you are interested? We have full pay disclosure here: https://docs.pslegends.com/payment/

Would love to add you to the team, I enjoy your style of writing!

    • pekoeblaze says:

Sorry, I’ll have to decline but thanks for the offer though 🙂 All of the best with your site as well 🙂

[Edit: Although I’ve certainly played PS1 and PS2 games over the years, I’m not really a professional-level expert on the subject, not to mention that I’m not really up to date with the modern Playstation consoles. And I’d probably find writing professionally about them to be too much pressure. Sorry again about this and thanks again for the offer.]

  8. Do you by chance accept comic review requests for indie comics?
